1970's Influences Primark Haul | May '15 |

Hey loves!

A few bits from Primark for you all today! I've been eyeing up some SS15 Pieces that all have a really 1970's Vibe!

I don't often shop big at Primark anymore, I have the joy of being employed by them & It feels like handing your wages back! Which anyone in Fashion Retail can relate to, am I rigggghttttt?

Yesterday I felt like treating myself however because I had experienced the rarity of not only a non-busy Stratford Primark BUT I also found my size (6) in EVERYTHING. MA GAWD.

Shirred Crop Top
£3.90
Primark

This cute little thing is originally £5, for some reason It was extra cheap in Stratford so I couldn't say no!
There was one left in my size also, So I grabbed it haha.

This is such a cute piece for the summer & will literally go with EVERYTHING.

Sports Stripe Hotpants
£3
Primark

I love these! They're wicked 1970's and have an American vibe! You can just see Farrah Fawcett or Goldie Hawn wearing these!

Button Down Mini Skirt
£10
Primark

IM SO IN LOVE WITH THIS. Ever since It came in with the new season I'd Wayne Campbell it with the 'It will be mine,oh yes,It will be mine.'
And now it is! Also, weirdly this went through at £3? Did somebody mess up? haha (I won't tell if you don't!)

Foundation Stick
£2.00
Primark

I also got another one of these foundation sticks. Similar to the Kryolan TV Makeup sticks, They're banging for doing a bit of cream contour Drag queen style!
I already have the medium one for contour & now I have this one for highlighting! Also an excellent match for my pale skin too,It's so hard for me to find things that are actually pale!

That's all for today, What's your favourite Primark purchase most recently?

| Poundland - 'Makeup Gallery' | Quick Dry Nail Polish Review

Hello loves, Today I'm going to review some Nail Polishes that I'm really excited about!
Poundland, being the ever growing treasure trove it is has embarked on a new Beauty Range! The range, called 'Makeup Gallery' has a little bit of everything you would expect from a Drugstore stand but it all is available for £1.

For this review i've chosen some of the Nail Varnishes from the range to try out. I've heard people say that they're impressive so I was interested to see what they were offering.

There was a range of about 30 colours including Finishes & Glitter polishes but I chose these two colours:

Latte
A Grey Brown shade, similar to chocolate.

Pink Soda
A really sheer, Natural pink.

These two colours are the ones that got my attention at first, I've wanted to try a taupe color nail polish for some time but never found one and I find it difficult to get a nice shade of pink without it being too peachy.

MOCHA

Mocha took two coats to get full coverage. It glided on really nicely and didn't apply streaky at all. I loved the colour, It was a really nice natural shade quite stone like.
It dried really quickly & I'd also like to say my mind totally played tricks on me because whilst painting it on I could of sworn I could smell chocolate! HA!

I wore it for two days and It didn't chip until I started doing some fiddly sewing and even then it chipped in places you couldn't notice! result.

PINK SODA

Pink Soda is my favourite of the two by far! Finally I've found my favourite pink nail varnish and for only £1 I couldn't be happier.
Unlike the Mocha shade, this pink is slightly more translucent and takes around 3-4 layers to build up a nice coverage.
However, once all of the layers are applied and I added a gel top coat from essence @ Wilkinsons, My nails looked Salon worthy!

I literally love this colour so very much it's perfection!

Overall, I would say that Poundland have hit it out of the stadium with these polishes! I'll 100% be purchasing more for my collection and I'm going to buy some of the Makeup too to see if that's any good! 10/10 Poundland, Well done!

Gel Eyeliner | Save or Spend? | Rimmel & MUA

Hello, Today I'm bringing you a review that I've wanted to do for a very long time!

As a sassy lady myself my eye make-up routine is never complete without Winged Eyeliner. I've used them all, Kohl, Liquid, Felt Tip & now I embark on a journey back to Gel Eyeliner.

I've dabbled in Gel Eyeliners before, I purchased the Collection Lasting Colour Gel Eyeliner about 2 years ago now and I was thoroughly impressed.. for about 2 months.. then it dried up! *sigh*

I cast it to the bottom of my make-up box and finally threw it away a year later, vowing to not bother again! That is until I the Rimmel Scandal Eyes made bold cat eyes at me. Made bold cat eyes at me for months on end.

Countless Savers £5 and under deals would come and go and i'd say "not today.." until one day. I BOUGHT IT.

I thought that perhaps there could be a cheaper alternative, After all i'm an Affordable fashion & Beauty blogger. Whilst at the checkout paying for my Scandal Eyes I spotted an MUA Gel Eyeliner in the 'Damaged Goods' Bin. The brush was missing, The Liner itself.. UNTOUCHED! It was almost too perfect & for £1 I couldn't say no for a good review of them both!

SO HERE COMES THE REVIEW!

MUA

MUA GEL EYELINER
"UNDERGROUND"
£3.00

This Eyeliner is the Cheaper of the two, and is packed much differently.
To begin with the pot itself is reminiscent of the original Rimmel Scandal Eyes packaging, With the brush being a removable part of the pot.
The consistency of the eyeliner is smooth but dries quickly meaning you may have to work fast to avoid clumping during application.

Here's the Eyeliner on:

RIMMEL

Rimmel Scandal Eyes
"001 Black"
£6.99

Being the more expensive option, you'll be pleased to know that not only do you get a quite big pot, but you also get a full size Gel Eyeliner brush with it! Not one of those annoying diddy ones! WIN.
It's a better size for carrying in a small makeup bag too, In my opinion.
I was really impressed with the consistency of this one,It was really well pigmented and creamy and once applied & dried after a few moments DID. NOT. BUDGE.

Here it is on:

MAKING COMPARISONS

Applied side by side, You probably wouldn't tell I was wearing two different Gels. However photographed, you can see there's more pigment in the MUA Gel than Rimmel.
HOWEVER~
Rimmel Scandal Eyes Stayed on. All day. Through me rubbing my eyes and I mean RUBBING. I woke up the next day with it intact.
MUA's Gel Eyeliner sadly, didn't last as long at all. It took maybe an Hour and a Half before it had transferred onto my upper Lid and within Two hours it had partly smudged off. The sadness!

Applied side by side onto my hand, the Rimmel Gel wins the pigment test here. You can see it's visibly darker from just one swipe of product!

VERDICT

So.. what can I say? I love a bargain. The MUA is a nice alternative to some of the more expensive brands out there offering you quality for a more affordable price, however in this instance you really do get what you pay for and that's a nice pigmented eyeliner that lasts a few hours.
My winner today is the Rimmel Scandal Eyes. It stood the test of time so well that I was beginning to think I used sharpie to apply my eyeliner! For a eye rubber & chronic Nap taker, that's all I need from an eyeliner! I know i'm one to preach about getting a good bargain but this product is worth every single penny I paid for it! I've used it three times so far and i've barely scraped a 2mm hole in it!
To get yourself a real deal on Rimmel products, Keep a look out for the £5 and under offer in Wilkinsons & Savers! It's a good shout and you can pick up a cracking Gel Eyeliner for £4.99 saving you £1.99!

That's all I have to say on this review! I hope my opinions helped you in some way!

What do you think of these eyeliners? Have you tried them? Let me know in the comments!
